FAQs
What is the SANKOFA collection about?
The SANKOFA collection is a series of wall works exploring memory, movement, and identity.
Each piece represents a moment within the human experience - carrying, offering, walking, returning, loving, and protecting.
Rooted in African presence, the collection reflects a universal idea:
one must go back and retrieve what was forgotten in order to
move forward.
Are these original artworks or prints?
Each work in the SANKOFA collection is an original NIZARRA composition, developed through a digital artistic process and released as a limited edition wall work.
Rather than mass-produced prints, these are author-led works, carefully produced using museum-grade materials to preserve depth, tone, and presence.
Selected sizes, particularly A0, are strictly limited, signed, and numbered, making them collectible pieces.
How many artworks are in the collection?
The SANKOFA collection currently consists of six works:
- The Warrior
- The Bearer
- The Offering
- The Passage
- The Return
- The Union
Each piece can stand alone or be curated together as a cohesive narrative.
Can I buy multiple pieces as a set?
Yes.
Many clients choose to acquire two or more works to create a stronger spatial narrative.
If you’d like guidance on pairing or layout, we can assist with a placement preview tailored to your space.
How do I choose the right artwork for my space?
Each piece carries a different energy:
- Medi The Bearer — grounding presence
- The Offering — exchange and connection
- The Passage / Return — movement and reflection
- The Union — intimacy and harmony
- Nkunzi The Warrior — strength and authority
If you're unsure, we can recommend options based on your interior and intention.
Do you offer placement or styling guidance?
Yes.
We offer a placement preview service, where selected works are digitally placed into your space to help you visualise scale, positioning, and impact before purchasing.
What sizes are available across the collection?
All works are available in:
- A2 - smaller, versatile format
- A1 - balanced, most popular
- A0 - statement scale (limited edition)
Availability of limited editions may vary per piece.
What materials are used?
Each work is produced using museum-grade materials, selected for depth, longevity, and a refined finish.
Unframed works are printed on archival paper using rich pigment inks, with a matte, non-reflective surface that preserves tonal detail.
Framed works are produced as giclée prints on a premium 350gsm poly-cotton blend, finished with a black wood frame and stone-toned mount for a gallery-level presentation.
