Sculptural Vessel - DWEN Form 09

DWEN Form 09 is a study in form, weight, and cultural expression.

Elevated on a cylindrical base and opening into a wide, calm bowl, the piece balances solidity with openness. Its silhouette is deliberate - grounded below, softened above. This creates a sense of quiet architectural presence within a space.

Subtle carved protrusions and suspended bead elements introduce rhythm and tactility, referencing African craft traditions through a contemporary, restrained lens.

This is not simply a vessel.
It is an object designed to hold space.

The DWEN Mark

At the centre of the vessel sits the DWEN Mark - a quiet symbolic gesture embedded into the form.

Inspired by African systems of meaning where strength is paired with humility, the mark represents a grounded kind of power, one that does not demand attention, but holds presence.

Rather than being applied as surface decoration, it is placed within the bowl, visible only upon engagement.

This positioning is intentional.

It reflects a core idea:
that meaning, like strength, is often carried internally.

Gently wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh detergents or rub heavily, as that can cause discolouration.
